Selling a house sucks at any time, but winter is so much more work….sweeping up pine needles, sweeping away puddles that gather where you don’t want potential buyers seeing them, cleaning floors from wet shoe marks!
How far should an agent go to sell your house, and where does the Consumer Guarantees Act kick in? I expect an agent to be ‘actively’ marketing my property, especially at open homes…so if they are standing round with their fingers up their asses rather than highlighting features in my home…aren’t they breaking that agreement I signed? Maybe a strategically placed recording device would help
When we sell this house and get a new place, Nicole will go flatting probably. Who am I without my baby? She has been my reason for everything for the past 22 years…so what am I supposed to do now? I feel Mid Life Crisis looming…any ideas on how I can make it a blast rather than a bust? Maybe I should get all MILF on you all and become an excercise junkie….pffft fat chance.
We found a nice place in Miramar yesterday….for some reason I’m scared to live in Miramar coz Mum always said that when the big one hits, that strip along the airport runway would break off and miramar/seatoun/strathmore would be an island on it’s own…most of which would end up under water! So now do I count Eastern Suburbs out? The plus about Eastern is the garden centres!!! Man I miss gardening, I can’t wait to have a pond again and some fishies…..hope the cats don’t eat them, coz I hate ponds with wire netting over them…ugly!
I’m desperate to lose some weight…I’ve decided to go for a new angle….’hunger is my friend’. For some reason the ‘I’m Hungry’ feeling has always been something I fear….why? Why can’t I just be ok with feeling hungry? I mean I’m not really hungry am I? As long as I know I’ve had enough…then I need to be able to cope with a feeling.
Why can’t we cope with some feelings?
Fear, hunger, depression…..why can’t we handle some feelings? What is the difference between feeling bad about something we just said to someone and feeling bad because we’re hungry? Why can’t we cope with the hunger one? We have to ‘fix’ it or make it go away by feeding ourselves or over feeding ourselves. Any bad feeling, we have to ‘fix’ by doing something to make it go away. WHY?
Why can’t we just be ok with bad feelings, as we are with good feelings?
Something to think about….

Not every user on Socialise chats in the chatrooms.
We would like some feedback on what ‘non-chatters’ would like to see on the main site.

Thought I’d have a natter to y’all!
Decided to put the house on the market this week…..doom and gloom all over the media seems to be really controlling the house prices. However!!!! If houses are selling really low….doesn’t that mean that when we buy one after we sell, we’ll get a really good deal!!!???
I kinda don’t get all the wailing about the prices sinking because it’s gotta be good one end doesn’t it?! We’re never gonna be in a situation where we will get a great price for our place AND a low price for the one we buy are we? Well not unless we go to Whangarei or somewhere
(ducks from Mer’s blows).
I was just watching Dr Phil…..is it just me or is his wife really really annoying? WTF is going on with her teeth too? Me thinks she musta had some ‘work’ done on her mouth and face….she’s just too feckin perfect for my liking….reeks of *coughs* bullshit.

My cats need defleaing…but by the time I’m organised to do them and put them outside in the sun, they’re having their naps! I’m not putting that crap on them when they’re on my bed! Well I suppose if that’s all I got to moan about I’m pretty bloomin lucky huh.
Some of us Wellywooders met last Saturday for Yum Cha at the big chinese restaurant in Tory St. Thank goodness CC was there, coz they coulda fed us snot if he wasn’t! Well CC said one of the dishes tasted like snot and not to eat it….so I wont be going there without him in the future! Always wanted to do Yum Cha, heard about it but didn’t know how it ‘worked’.
Yum Cha means something…..CC Insert here! But basically the waiting staff wander round the restaurant with trays of these bamboo containers with all sorts of yum stuff and as they pass your table they’ll offer you some. If you choose it then they note 1 container of that down on the ticket on your table (or 2 or 3 or however many you take off them) and when you go to pay it’s all added up together. We just all divided the total between us and it came out to about $25 each including soft drinks and chinese tea so it was very affordable!
My fav was probably the coconut buns, which my dearest informed me HE can cook! So the challenge is on!
OMG Oprah has Rick Springfield on today…….must go!

Holler back now!

The Socialise May Meet on 24th May was a roaring success.
Held at the Southern Cross Tavern in Wellington, Socialise users met up had some drinks, food and laughs then moved onto Boogie Wonderland to dance until the wee hours.
To see all the photos click HERE many thanks to user “Toiletroll” for putting up the photos online for us all to giggle at, and his neverending comments that go along with them!
Next event is planned for Auckland either later in 2008 or early 2009.
Thanks to everyone that attended and their loyalty to the site.
I attended the May Meet a couple of weeks ago and was humbled by the amount of Socialise users that came and told me their stories about how much the site has meant to them.
It’s really interesting and heartwarming to hear those stories, because everyone has different lives, feelings and experiences in this life and no 2 people are ever going to feel the same about something.
To know that something we started a couple of years ago and have spent many a late night promoting and endeavouring to make the user experience a memorable one, has meant so much to some of our users.
Thanks for the feedback!

Let’s face it, it’s a lot harder to get energetic about going out in the evenings when it’s so cold outside!
It’s nice to know Socialise is always open and warm!
Internet traffic increases over winter, so it’s a great time to meet some new people and make new friends.
Remember Socialise is a clean, safe well moderated environment and we encourage our regular users to invite their friends to register.
