Just Bloggin!

Thought I’d have a natter to y’all!

Decided to put the house on the market this week…..doom and gloom all over the media seems to be really controlling the house prices. However!!!! If houses are selling really low….doesn’t that mean that when we buy one after we sell, we’ll get a really good deal!!!???

I kinda don’t get all the wailing about the prices sinking because it’s gotta be good one end doesn’t it?! We’re never gonna be in a situation where we will get a great price for our place AND a low price for the one we buy are we? Well not unless we go to Whangarei or somewhere :P (ducks from Mer’s blows).

I was just watching Dr Phil…..is it just me or is his wife really really annoying? WTF is going on with her teeth too? Me thinks she musta had some ‘work’ done on her mouth and face….she’s just too feckin perfect for my liking….reeks of *coughs* bullshit.

My cats need defleaing…but by the time I’m organised to do them and put them outside in the sun, they’re having their naps! I’m not putting that crap on them when they’re on my bed! Well I suppose if that’s all I got to moan about I’m pretty bloomin lucky huh.

Some of us Wellywooders met last Saturday for Yum Cha at the big chinese restaurant in Tory St. Thank goodness CC was there, coz they coulda fed us snot if he wasn’t! Well CC said one of the dishes tasted like snot and not to eat it….so I wont be going there without him in the future! Always wanted to do Yum Cha, heard about it but didn’t know how it ‘worked’.

Yum Cha means something…..CC Insert here! But basically the waiting staff wander round the restaurant with trays of these bamboo containers with all sorts of yum stuff and as they pass your table they’ll offer you some. If you choose it then they note 1 container of that down on the ticket on your table (or 2 or 3 or however many you take off them) and when you go to pay it’s all added up together. We just all divided the total between us and it came out to about $25 each including soft drinks and chinese tea so it was very affordable!

My fav was probably the coconut buns, which my dearest informed me HE can cook! So the challenge is on!

OMG Oprah has Rick Springfield on today…….must go!

*tries to squeeze into bubble gum jeans

Holler back now!

just to add a few comments on YUMCHAR.

Yum char basically means drink tea (in cantonese) and the closest european meal is the TAPAs format. Yum cha is basically brunch and desinged for excessive conviviality! The basic idea is sorta morning tea and have DIM SUMS (tiny hearts) to go with it. Like Tapas, dimsums are basically “snack sized” trays of food. the variety is huge and growing daily as the chinese adapt to various international demands……it ranges from traditional dumplngs. buns through chickens feet, pigs ears, tripe to roast duck, pork.

It is now mainly a Lunch format and works well for a very quick lunch or a nice genteel soiree with good friends spread over ohh 3 or 5 hours…..bubbly goes surprisingly well! (especially with pig stomach on salted vegetables)!!

Hahaha…..for my next blog, I will tlak a little about the 60 course traditional chinese banquet!!

By george Ive got it…
But i dont know how to open one of my own!
I love when i get something right on this pc.. makes me feel like I know what im doing, pity my memory lines wont let me remember how I did it.. tho..
I have been studying this morning, Unit Standard 2784 “create and use a simple spreadsheet to solve a problem”
Well I created the problem , but i have no idea how to use it. lmao.
Honestly there is nothing simple at all , and then they test you on what they just thought they taught you….
INTRODUCING EXCEL … yeah right……. I didnt know if I had a workbook or a menu , a tool bar or a header and than we got into formatting and ranges and cells and task panes….
Now imagine that all of those words are gobbledegook. (to me they are) then put them in a pot (my brain) and try to produce a system where they will make a modicum of sense.. and a spreadsheet.

I ended up with anzac biscuits… which i bought at pak and save , I ate them for my sanity and I will return tomorrow to find out about Mallowpuffs… oooopss i mean formul;as and calculations….
Oh well such is life..
I heard .. that if you fill your brain with too much information you run out of space. so you have to put some of it into a storage compartment which you can retrieve later
I think I did that , but I dont know where the storage compartment is now.
and do you know what … theres a lot of mighty fine stuff in that compartment .
